چکیده
This paper deals with the numerical simulation of the diffusion and assimilation by photosynthesis of CO2 within a leaf. An axisymmetric cell centered finite volume scheme is proposed for the discretization of the problem. The resulting code enables the determination of the diffusion coefficient in the leaf porous medium, from experimental measurements of the pointwise value of internal CO2 concentration, giving some insight on the relative roles of lateral internal diffusion and assimilation.

In this study, a time-dependent 2D axisymmetric model of a multilayer hollow fiber composite membrane for gas separation is proposed. In spite of the common multilayer membranes, which a dense layer coated on a porous support layer and subjected into the feed stream, here, the porous support is exposed to the feed gas. In this regard, the governing equations of species transport are developed f...

The steady state of the two-substance model of light driven carbon turnover for the photosynthetic CO2 assimilation rate is presented. The model is based on the nonlinear diffusion equation for a single chloroplast in the elliptical geometry by assuming light driven Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP) regeneration and CO2 assimilation reaction of carboxilation coupled with the photosynthetic sink ...
متن کاملLocalization of (photo)respiration and CO2 re-assimilation in tomato leaves investigated with a reaction-diffusion model
The rate of photosynthesis depends on the CO2 partial pressure near Rubisco, Cc, which is commonly calculated by models using the overall mesophyll resistance. Such models do not explain the difference between the CO2 level in the intercellular air space and Cc mechanistically. This problem can be overcome by reaction-diffusion models for CO2 transport, production and fixation in leaves. Howeve...
